Nestled in the wilds of Kauai’s North Shore and perched less than 100 feet from a reef-protected shoreline, the home hovers above the landscape providing a 270-degree ocean view. The once dilapidated home was transformed to celebrate its pelagic character. Every design consideration, both subtle and overt, withstood an endurance test of its attunement to ever-visible sea touching the every-present sky. AM stewarded the project from start to finish: adding windows, opening walls, and reconfiguring the circulation paths to embrace the indoor/outdoor lifestyle. Furniture + decor were selected to endure the saline climate with a nod to the vintage surf vibe the for which the area is renowned.
